We have been trailblazers ever since we were founded in 1995. Back then, we were Spain’s first-ever theme park, paving the way for everyone else and showing that our country deserved to enjoy the best emotions and adventures imaginable.

30 years later, we continue to be pioneers in other aspects, such as protecting our immediate surroundings and promoting respect for the environment as a whole. At PortAventura World we want to leave a lasting imprint on the memory of our visitors without causing a negative impact on the planet.

Keep reading to discover how we do this and join our fight to take care of this beautiful earth that we call home.

Energy is neither created nor destroyed, it is saved!

One of our most important environmental projects is PortAventura Solar. As La Vanguardia explains in its interesting article, this project consists of a photovoltaic plant with more than 11,000 solar panels installed by Endesa X.

This facility generates 30% of the energy that PortAventura World requires for its operations, so we could say that the energy that powers some of our attractions comes from 100% renewable sources!

Committed and passionate

At PortAventura World, we are passionate about getting involved and joining forces with allies who stand up for the most important environmental causes. That’s why, as you can see on our website, we have voluntarily signed several vital agreements for this very purpose.

AENOR’s Zero Waste, for example, is a prestigious certification that recognises organisations that recover more than 90% of the different fractions of wastes that they generate. We are so proud to have achieved this!

We are also affiliated with the EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). This is a voluntary community environmental management and auditing system that allows companies and other organisations to evaluate, improve, and publicise their environmental behaviour.

These are just some of our commitments, but you can discover them all on our website!

Join us!

Collaborate with us in this fight to preserve our natural world. We have activities open to everyone, such as EcoEduca School Days.

Together we will stop climate change and make this world a better place to live for future generations!
